Most toys on the market today encourage baby mind and body development allowing them to serve a dual purpose: a fun and educational playtime. But, before purchasing, you should check the packaging on toys to see the recommended age range for the use of each toy. It is important to check these labels for a couple of reasons. First, some toys may have small parts that are dangerous for younger children. Second, advance toys designed for older children may be boring for younger children or babies who are not able to properly play with or use the toy. However, with this being said, you don’t have to religiously follow the age recommendation for each toy. A toy that is good for a baby age six months to one year may interest a baby older than one year and may serve as a great play thing for a baby only four months old. Infant Toys
Although very young babies can’t play with much, there are toys developed specifically for infants age 0-6 months. One such toy is a play gym. Check out our section on play gyms to find out more. Other toys for young babies are toys that hang from car seats or strollers. These toys help to develop eye coordination, reaching skills, and introduce your baby to different feels and textures.Check out our parent reviews about different toys for babies and decide which toys are right for your baby.
