Deciding whether to buy a bouncer or a swing can be a
difficult choice for many parents. How can you know which your baby
will prefer? Some babies love bouncers and hate swings, and some
babies love swings and loath bouncers. How will you know which one

My husband and I never managed to make the final decision
about whether to purchase a bouncer or a swing. A friend of ours
offered us her bouncer that she had used with her now school-age
children and that was that for us. And, lucky for us our daughter
loved her bouncer chair. However, we did test out several swings in
the baby shops with our daughter and she seemed to love all of those as
well. So, I guess we wouldn’t have gone wrong either way. So, go
ahead and take the plunge—buy one or the other (but check out our
articles and parent reviews first before making the purchase) or borrow
from a friend as a sort of test run. Remember, anything that gives
you a few minutes without having to hold your baby is worth the price.

Bouncers first became famous among non-parents due to a Sex In The City episode in which the character Miranda, a new, single mom, didn’t know what to with her constantly screaming and unhappy baby boy.
