Burt’s Bees Baby Bee Nourishing Oil User Reviews

The Burts Bee’s Baby Bee Nourishing Oil has received a rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars from users on diapers.com and amazon.com.
Users almost unanimously love the Burt’s Bees Apricot Oil for babies and the only negative review I could find is from a user who is angry that the company has been bought out by Clorox, so for this reason she gave the oil (although really it is a rating for Burt’s Bees, not the oil) a low mark.  This one poor rating has nothing to do with the baby oil itself and all of the other many reviewers only have very positive things to say about Burt’s Bees Baby Bee Nourishing Oil.
Reviewers say this is an amazing baby oil, it has a great apricot scent and leaves baby smelling yummy (but the scent is not overwhelming), is fantastic for dry skin, and leaves baby’s skin soft and smooth.  Users love how this baby oil absorbs into the skin and never feels greasy and they say it is great for curing eczema and cradle cap.  Many users recommend putting a cap or two of the oil in a warm bath to help babies with severe dry skin or with eczema and others suggest rubbing oil into baby’s head one hour before bath time to help with cradle cap.  Then in the bath comb or brush baby’s hair to loosen the flaky skin before shampooing.  Users say this will leave your baby’s head flake-free.  Users are also pleased that this baby oil, and all Burt’s Bees products, are all natural and don’t contain any mineral oil.  Users write that this baby oil is “worth every penny,” and is a “must have for babies.”
Advice: One user says that rosemary can trigger seizures in epileptics and warns to be careful if using Burt’s Baby Bee products because most of them contain this natural ingredient.

Baby Oil And Lotion

Edit Posted by Baby Product Rewiew with No comments

Baby Oil And Lotion

Soap and water can really dry out a baby’s skin.  To help keep your baby’s skin soft and smooth, always apply a thin layer of baby oil or baby moisturizing lotion to your baby’s skin after bath time.  You can even use some baby oil to give your baby a relaxing, just before bedtime massage.

Dry Baby Skin Problems

Baby lotions and oils can help with a myriad of baby skin problems from baby eczema to cradle cap.  By exploring user reviews for various baby oils and lotions you can find out which product has worked best to help clear up severe cases of dry baby skin, which product is safest to use on babies with sensitive skin, and which product clears up mystery rashes, crusty dry patches and flaky skin.
Users on the review boards also provide lots of helpful tips on how to deal with many of the common baby skin problems and offer helpful advice on how to use these various baby lotions and oils to cure your baby’s skin aliments.  We, of course, have summed up all of these comments and tips in our product review articles so that you can find all of the information you need in one place.

A Cure For Cradle Cap

For example, as a cure for cradle cap many users suggest rubbing baby oil or lotion on your baby’s head an hour or more before bath time.  This will help to loosen all of those dry and stubborn scalp scales.  Then during your baby’s bath use a baby hair brush or comb and brush away the scaly skin.  Shampoo when finished.
I tested out this advice on my daughter’s cradle cap and found that it works really well.  However, I personally recommend using a baby comb rather than a hair brush.  Just pull the comb across your baby’s scalp at almost a flat angle (to prevent poking your baby in the head with the comb’s teeth).  You should find that the dry skin and scales from the cradle cap will begin to pile up between the teeth of the comb.  Repeat for a day or two until the cradle cap is gone.  –Be sure not to scrape against your baby’s scalp too hard—you don’t want to cause your baby any discomfort or irritation.

Baby Bath Time

Edit Posted by Baby Product Rewiew with No comments
In this artical we want to tell about baby bath time for new parents and those who are going to be a parents of baby. The most nerve-racking thing you will have to do when you first take your new baby home is give him/her a bath.  Many new parents are terrified of this first time bathing experience, and rightfully so.  Let’s face it, if you’ve never bathed a baby before it can be quite scary.
Check out some great newborn bath tubs to make bathing your baby a little easier like the Puj Tub or the Original Tummy Tub.

Preparing For A Baby Bath

When preparing a baby bath, first, and most importantly, be sure the temperature of the bath is just right.  Make certain the water is not too hot, and not too cold.  Test the water with the inside of your wrist or with your elbow.  You can also purchase a special baby bath thermometer that can help you tell the exact temperature of your bath water.  (But also always double check the water against your own skin).
If the air in the house is cold, turn on the heat before getting your baby ready for the bath.  Newborn babies hate to be naked, especially because they can’t stand to be cold.  Make the room where the bath will take place nice for your baby.  You may be hot and uncomfortable but you’ll survive the ten minutes or so it will take to bath your baby.  Also, turn on the heat in the room where you will dress and undress your baby.  Ensure that the whole bathing experience is a positive one for your baby.

How To Bath Your Baby

When first putting your baby in the bath water don’t rush the process.  Slowly submerge your baby’s body in the water (keep your baby’s head above the water) giving your baby a chance to get use to this new feel.  This will help your baby adjust to and enjoy this experience.
Also, bathing your baby can be easier and safer if you purchase some sort of baby insert to help support your baby during the bath. Some baby bath tubs come with one built in.  This insert will hold your baby upright or in an inclined position helping to ensure that your baby’s head won’t slip under the water. (Although this is no substitute for adult supervision and someone should always be with the baby to prevent baby from drowning—it only takes seconds of neglect for a baby to drown in just inches of water!).

You may also want to consider purchasing a special baby bath towel with a handy hood to help keep your baby’s head warm after the bath.  Check out all of our articles on baby bath items and decide which bath products will help you bath your baby

More Clothing Than I Could’ve Imagined

When I was pregnant and first preparing to purchase clothing for my daughter, I read that I may need to change my baby’s clothing up to 5 times per day.  I remember thinking, “that’s crazy.”  But, I decided to be safe rather than sorry and went about purchasing enough clothing to accommodate that prediction.  So, if I needed 5 outfits per day and let’s say I needed at least 3 days worth of clothing (depending on how diligent I would be about doing laundry) I would need 15 outfits.  However, my daughter was a winter baby so I would need even more clothing than that because I would have to dress her in layers.  So I proceeded to shop.  When I came home with my shopping bags my husband thought I was crazy.  He couldn’t believe we would ever need so much infant clothing.
Then my daughter was born.  And there were several days when she went through more than five changes of clothing.  I would feed her, she would spit up all over herself, I would change her again, and then, just I as fastened the last snap of her new outfit, she would spit up again.  And then I would change her again.  Then a few hours later I would change her diaper and just before I put the new diaper under her she would pee.  And the pee went everywhere—up her back, down her legs, and of course all over her clothes.  So I would change her again.  And then, just as I finished the closing the last snap she would again spit up.  And I would start the process of changing her again.  And this all be before 9am.
So, yes, you will need some clothing for your baby. However, as your baby gets older you won't have to change him/her as often, so there is no need to stock up on baby clothing for six months and up.
Check out our articles on the best types of baby clothing, understanding baby clohting sizes, and advice for buying baby clothes.

Bathing Your Baby

The first time you bath your baby will probably be the scariest experience as a new parent.  You think, “Please don’t let me drop his/her wet and slippery body and please don’t have me accidently dunk his/her head under the water or get soap in his/her eyes,” etc… Many new parents will ask an experienced friend or a grandparent to help with this first time bathing experience.  But, don’t worry, after a few times you will be a pro and you will have no problem bathing your baby on your own.
There are many things you will need when bathing your baby.  A baby bath tub, a baby bath insert to help support your baby while in the tub, baby shampoo and baby soap, are a few things you may need to start out.  For after the bath you may want to consider purchasing a hooded towel and you will definitely want some baby oil or baby lotion to help protect baby's delicate skin from drying out.  Check out our articles on bath products to find out which items are best for your baby.

Baby Clothing

How much clothing will your really need to purchase for your baby?  Well, the answer to this really depends on how often you do laundry and whether or not you own a dryer or need to line-hang your clothes to dry.  However, you should count on having days where you will change your baby up to five times before evening (thanks to lots of spit up, leaky diapers, and accidents during diaper changes).  So make sure you are prepared.

What Baby Clothing To Buy?

Most people will tell you that it is not worth purchasing newborn size clothing as babies are either born bigger than that size or will outgrow the size in just a matter of weeks.  You are better off just purchasing size 0-3 months instead.  Of course, if you have a premature baby or an underweight baby then the newborn size or even a preemie size will work for you.  However, for most new parents this clothing size isn’t worth purchasing.
When thinking about how much clothing to buy, you should make a list of how much of each type of clothing you want.  It’s a good idea to make this list because it is very easy to get carried away in the store and purchase too much baby clothing.  But, let’s face it, baby clothing is so adorable—how can we resist?
Also, I recommend for the early months purchasing lots of sleep n’ plays, which are one piece body suits with snaps down the front.  When your baby is young and you are inexperienced at dressing him quickly and efficiently, this is an easy way to get him dressed.  Later, after you have mastered the art of dressing your baby, you can have fun with all of the other varieties of baby clothing available. If your baby is born in the winter, or if you live in a very cold climate, you will need to dress your baby in layers.  This means you should dress your baby in a long sleeve body suit under the sleep n’ play to keep him warm.
When dressing your baby after baby bath during the first few months remember: Your baby will always need one layer more than you.  So if you are good in a tee shirt then your baby needs a tee shirt and a jumper/jacket/sweatshirt, unless it is extremely hot and then your baby is also probably best off in short sleeves, or even in just a diaper.

Baby Clothing Purchase List

A minimal basic clothing shopping list to get you started:
  • 5-10 sleep n’ plays (light cotton material for warmer weather and fleece or terry cloth for winter)
  • 10 onsies —long sleeve and short sleeve (depends on the season and climate) and I recommend buying one pack of inexpensive, plain white cotton onsies that can be used under a sleep n’ play or any other item of clothing as an extra layer.
  • 5-6 pairs of pants to put over the onsies (try to buy pants with feet if available—not easy to find but worth purchasing if you can since socks often fall off babies)
